Veterinary Surgeon - Surbiton
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established, multi-site practice across Surbiton, Teddington and Shepperton (Southwest London/Surrey). This role offers an excellent balance of clinical autonomy, team support, and varied caseload exposure across three distinct practice environments.
The successful candidate will enjoy a 4-day working week, no out-of-hours commitments, and the opportunity to manage their own cases while being supported by an experienced and collaborative team.
Salary: Starting from £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Location: Surbiton, Teddington & Shepperton (Southwest London/Surrey)
Schedule: 38.3 hours per week, 4-day week, 1 in 4 Saturdays, 1 in 12 Sundays, no OOH
About the Practice
This is a well-established, RCVS-accredited small animal practice group offering a unique blend of community feel and multi-site clinical exposure.
The practices are modern and well-equipped, featuring digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopic equipment, laser therapy, and in-house laboratory facilities, supporting a high standard of clinical care.
Working across multiple sites provides exposure to a diverse caseload and client base, while remaining part of a consistent and supportive team. The wider team includes experienced vets and nurses, with certificate holders in a range of disciplines, creating a collaborative and progressive clinical environment.
Responsibilities
The Veterinary Surgeon will play a key role in delivering high-quality care across the practice group.
Providing excellent clinical care in consultations and surgery
Managing a varied first opinion caseload across multiple sites
Developing and implementing tailored treatment plans
Working both independently and collaboratively, including some sole charge
Building strong client relationships and delivering outstanding service
Contributing to clinical discussions and team development
Candidate Profile
They are seeking a confident and motivated Veterinary Surgeon who thrives in a team environment.
RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon (MRCVS)
Minimum 2–3 years’ UK experience in first opinion practice
Confident with routine surgery and medical cases
Comfortable with occasional sole charge
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Interest in developing a clinical area or pursuing further qualifications
