A leading specialty and emergency hospital in Crystal Lake, IL, is seeking a Board-Certified or Residency-Trained Veterinary Criticalist to join their dynamic team. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups

  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing education and guidance

  • Maintain accurate medical records and follow controlled substance protocols

  • Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure efficient and high-quality patient care

  • Participate in hospital rounds and evaluate daily protocols for operational excellence

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and practice management updates

Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications:

  • DVM or VMD from an accredited veterinary college

  • Completed 1-year rotational internship in small animal medicine, surgery, or ER

  • Completed a 3-year AVMA-approved residency program in critical care

  • Current State Veterinary License and DEA registration (or ability to obtain)

  • Strong diagnostic, clinical, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Board Certification in Veterinary Critical Care

  • 2–5 years of post-residency experience

  • Advanced clinical knowledge in internal medicine, orthopedics, neurology, and emergency care

  • Commitment to continuing education and professional growth

  • Strong business acumen and understanding of hospital operations

Compensation & Benefits
