Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive physical examinations, diagnose illnesses, and develop treatment plans for small animal patients
Provide preventive care, vaccinations, and wellness consultations based on patient lifestyle and health status
Utilize a problem-based medical approach, developing differential diagnoses and diagnostic plans
Perform routine and advanced surgical procedures, including spays, neuters, mass removals, and exploratory surgeries
Conduct complete dental examinations, dental radiograph evaluations, and dental procedures including extractions
Interpret diagnostic tests and imaging to confirm or support clinical diagnoses
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within electronic medical systems
Collaborate with veterinary technicians and hospital staff to ensure smooth case management and patient care
Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care
Participate in clinical discussions and knowledge sharing to support continuous improvement within the veterinary team
Candidate Profile

Requirements include:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) from an accredited veterinary school
Active veterinary license in Ohio or the ability to obtain licensure prior to start date
DEA license and controlled substance registration where required
USDA accreditation (or ability to obtain shortly after hire)
Confidence performing anesthesia and routine surgical procedures including spays, neuters, and dental treatments
Strong communication and client education skills
A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to a positive team culture
