Practice - Audit and Accounts Senior - Bridgnorth, Shropshire  

Location: Bridgnorth, Shropshire  
Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 depending on experience  
Contract: Full Time, Office Based  

A long-established and locally respected accountancy practice in Bridgnorth is looking for an experienced Audit & Accounts Senior to join its friendly and professional team. This is a great opportunity to work in a supportive practice environment and develop your career delivering quality audit and accounts work for a diverse range of clients across Shropshire and the West Midlands.  

There are options available to work on just Audits, or a mixed role with Accounts. 

The Role of Audit & Accounts Senior 

You will play a key role in overseeing audit engagements, preparing and reviewing statutory accounts, and managing client relationships. You’ll work with a varied client base, including Limited Companies, Partnerships, and sole traders, providing high-quality audit and accounting services. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead and assist on audit engagements from planning to completion 

  • Prepare and review year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies 

  • Work with clients to understand their business and provide excellent service throughout audits and accounts cycles 

  • Review accounting records and statutory disclosures for accuracy and compliance 

  • Assist with VAT, bookkeeping, payroll and basic tax compliance as required 

  • Communicate directly with clients and support junior staff throughout audit and accounts assignments 

  • Ensure work is completed within deadlines and in line with professional standards 

About You 

  • ACA or ACCA qualified with strong audit experience 

  • Proven track record in audit and accounts preparation within a UK accountancy practice 

  • Excellent technical knowledge of UK accounting and auditing standards (UK GAAP / FRS 102) 

  • Strong communicator with the ability to build trusted client relationships 

  • Confident in supervising junior team members and guiding their development 

  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative team 

  • Eligible to travel to client sites in the region (full UK driving licence preferred)
