A growing professional services firm is recruiting an Audit Manager to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of audit clients, including large owner-managed businesses, groups, and not-for-profit organisations.

Key Responsibilities
Audit Delivery and Portfolio Management

Manage a portfolio of audit clients with fees of approximately £500,000

Lead complex and group audit engagements

Plan audits, assess risks, and tailor audit approaches

Review audit files to ensure high technical and compliance standards

Act as main client contact throughout engagements

Ensure consistent service delivery and client satisfaction
Risk Management and Audit Quality

Monitor reputational, regulatory, ethical, and commercial risk

Identify issues early and provide practical solutions

Support audit technical queries and quality initiatives

Prepare documentation for monitoring visits and inspections

Contribute to continuous improvement in audit methodology
Team Leadership and Development

Manage and develop audit teams, including trainees and semi-seniors

Coach staff on technical standards and best practice

Support performance management and progression planning

Assist other managers with workflow and resource planning
Commercial Awareness and Client Service

Respond to client queries professionally and promptly

Experience and Qualifications Required
Essential

ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)

Strong experience managing audit portfolios in practice
