Semi-Senior Accountant – Harrogate

Role Overview
An excellent opportunity for a Semi-Senior Accountant to join a busy and growing Harrogate-based accountancy team. This role offers exposure to a varied client portfolio, hands-on technical experience and the opportunity to progress professionally with structured support and mentoring from experienced accountants.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the management of a varied client portfolio
Prepare basic company financial statements
Prepare interim management accounts
Prepare personal tax returns
Prepare partnership accounts and partnership tax returns
Attend client meetings and liaise with directors and business owners (as experience develops)
Support the training and development of apprentices
Assist with company secretarial duties (desirable)
Prepare P11Ds (desirable)
Provide general accountancy and administrative support as required
Ideal Candidate Profile
Proactive, organised and forward-thinking
Self-motivated with a strong desire to develop within practice
Confident communicator with a professional client-facing approach
Skills & Experience Required
Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice
Exposure to Sage 50, Xero, QuickBooks, IRIS or Sage Business Cloud advantageous
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle confidential information professionally
Well-organised with strong record-keeping skills
Qualifications
Studying towards AAT or ACA/ACCA, or
Relevant university degree with intent to pursue a professional qualification
