Role Summary – Semi Senior / Senior Accountant (Cardiff)

As a Semi Senior / Senior Accountant, you will work directly with clients and senior management, delivering high-quality accounting support. You’ll lead key client responsibilities, help develop junior staff, and contribute to the continued success of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare annual statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders

  • Draft corporation tax computations

  • Provide bookkeeping support and work with cloud accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage

  • Communicate directly with clients, ensuring deadlines are met and queries are resolved

  • Prepare management accounts and financial reports

  • Mentor and guide junior team members

  • Review accounts prepared by team members

  • Support wider team on advisory and ad-hoc assignments

  • Report on client files in preparation for client meetings

Skills and Experience They’re Looking For

  • ACA/ACCA qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience

  • Previous practice experience in a UK accountancy firm is desirable

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail

  • Familiarity with good accounting and regulatory practice

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Confidence using cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)

  • Experience with IRIS Suite desirable but not essential

  • Good MS Office skills

  • Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple client deadlines

  • Positive attitude and strong team player
