Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) – Bolton, Greater Manchester
About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse in Bolton to join a progressive and purpose-led veterinary organisation. This is a full-time, permanent role working 40 hours per week across a 4-day week, offering excellent work-life balance alongside a diverse and rewarding caseload.
This position is ideal for an RVN looking to develop their clinical skills in a 24-hour hospital setting, with exposure to both routine and complex cases, including orthopaedics and intensive care.
Salary: Up to £33,000 DOE
Location: Bolton, Greater Manchester
Schedule: 40 hours per week, 4-day week, 1 in 6 weekends (with time off in lieu)
About the Practice
This is a busy 24-hour veterinary hospital in Greater Manchester, designed to support a high standard of patient care across a varied caseload. The practice offers a modern, well-equipped clinical environment and a collaborative team culture.
Facilities include:
8 consulting rooms
3 surgical theatres
Digital X-ray and dental suite
CT scanner
Separate dog and cat wards
Dedicated ICU for intensive nursing care
The team manages a wide range of medical and surgical cases, including regular orthopaedic procedures. The practice promotes a flat structure, encouraging collaboration and ensuring every team member’s voice is valued.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality nursing care to inpatients, outpatients, and ICU cases
Assist with surgical procedures and monitor anaesthesia
Support advanced diagnostics including imaging
Provide clear and compassionate client communication
Maintain accurate patient records
Work collaboratively within the clinical team
Contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the hospital
Candidate Profile
Qualified and RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse
Previous experience in a busy hospital or small animal practice
Strong clinical skills, particularly in anaesthesia and inpatient care
Confident working in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A team-focused, proactive approach
