An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse in Portsmouth to join a purpose-driven veterinary organisation on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract (37.5 hours per week).

This role offers a varied and rewarding caseload within a fast-paced environment, where no two days are the same. The successful candidate will play a key role across all aspects of nursing, from consultations and inpatient care to theatre work and Schedule 3 procedures.

Responsibilities

The Registered Veterinary Nurse will be involved in a broad range of duties, including:

  • Delivering high standards of inpatient and general nursing care

  • Running nurse-led consultations

  • Assisting in theatre, including Schedule 3 procedures

  • Dispensing medications and supporting clinical workflows

  • Monitoring patient welfare and ensuring excellent patient care

  • Communicating effectively with clients and colleagues

  • Supporting and mentoring team members where appropriate

  • Contributing to operational efficiency and resource management

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a Qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse (RCVS registered)

  • Be confident working in a busy, varied clinical environment

  • Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Be adaptable, proactive, and solution-focused

  • Have a strong commitment to animal welfare and patient care
