Veterinary Surgeon – Independent Small Animal Practice - Norwich

About the Role

We are representing an independent small animal veterinary practice that is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join their supportive and professional clinical team. Flexible working options are available, with both full-time and part-time hours considered.

This role would suit a vet confident in routine and first-opinion surgery, who enjoys a hands-on clinical role within a well-run independent environment.

About the Practice

The practice provides a wide range of small animal surgical procedures, carried out to a high clinical standard. Surgical work includes, but is not limited to:

  • Lump removals

  • Stitch-ups and wound management

  • Cystotomies and routine soft tissue procedures

Patients undergo thorough pre-operative health checks to assess anaesthetic risk, and most procedures are performed under general anaesthesia, using injectable and inhalational anaesthetic techniques with appropriate monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting consultations and managing medical cases

  • Performing routine and soft tissue surgical procedures

  • Carrying out pre-operative assessments and post-operative care

  • Ensuring high standards of anaesthesia and patient safety

  • Providing excellent client communication and care

  • Working collaboratively with nursing and support teams

About You

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon

  • Confident in general practice medicine and routine surgery

  • Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills

  • Compassionate, professional, and team-oriented

  • Flexible regarding working hours and weekend arrangements
